The Life of Lamé
Would Missoni have shot to its stratospheric heights of fame so quickly were it not for those lamé blouses strutting down the runway under the bright lights of the Palazzo Pitti in the Spring of 1967? Missoni Moments Now On

Missoni at AmfAR

Missoni takes part in the annual AmfAR fashion show with an original creation. We saw it off with all the care in the world...

Here at Missoni, we cherish our unique creations like children, and like children we love to see them make their way into the world.

This beautiful two-pieces swimsuit made of knit lace with laménuances, embroidery and appliques in shades of red, paired with a knit lace bolero with ruffles applied as embroidery, was carefully packaged by the loving hands of its makers and shipped off to Cannes. The occasion was the AmfAR benefit fashion show curated by Carine Roitfeld, which took place on May 22nd during the Cinema Against AIDS gala at Hotel du Cap.

The theme of this year’s show was red, and this lovely swimsuit, with its rétro feel and multi-layered tones, was auctioned straight off the catwalk.

Proceeds from the fashion show (3.5 million euros) will go towards supporting AmfAR, the Foundation for AIDS research.
