A return to nature and the origins of surf has characterized the atmosphere of the Missoni Men’s Winter 2014 runway show held Sunday, 12 January 2014 at the Salone dei Tessuti in Milan during Men’s Fashion Week.
The venue was classic and welcomed the weaves, landscapes and tales from the late 1960s distinguishing this collection inspired by the golden age of surf. Earth and sea tones were united in the warmth of cashmere pullovers and the high-tech nature of high performance windbreakers that still had a tailored look.
The models, distinguished by their long hair, crossed the hall full of journalists, bloggers and fashion lovers wearing hand-made wool blankets reminiscent of patchwork beach towels usedn by surfers to warm themselves up.
This image was invested in every aspect of the show, from the bamboo forest in the middle of the hall to the soundtrack from the film The Innermost Limits of Pure Fun by the Farm, one of the greatest examples of music in film.
