As the 2014 World Cup kicked off, Luisa Via Roma chose the city of Florence as the backdrop for paying tribute to Brazil and its culture with the Firenze4ever event and the Make Kids Happy charity auction.
This charity project is a collaboration with Adidas. It was begun as a way to help children in the Brazilian favelas by selling one-of-a-kind pieces made by major designers. The Italian and international fashion brands participating were asked to get creative in reinterpreting the Brazuca, the official ball of the 2014 World Cup.
The charity auction on eBay will end at the same time as the competition’s finals. For the occasion, Missoni chose to pay homage to two of Rosita and Ottavio’s passions – flowers and football – creating a unique piece that brings to mind a water lily, which you can bid for here.
It’s a playful design for a ball made up of colourful ovals, representing the coming together of countries, histories and passions that are different and at the same time alike.
