Missoni Women’s Winter 2014: backstage

Snapshots from backstage at the Missoni Women’s winter 2014 runway show

Missoni offers fashion inspired by men’s sportswear with oversized proportions, soft fabrics and a free spirit for its Women’s Winter 2014 Collection. Ever a distinctive element, knits were tinted with shades of yellow, orange, green and “digital” blue for a woman who focuses on powerful details, becoming the hero of life in the city.

The dark setting illuminated by long Missoni Home multi-coloured curtains and the smoky sounds of Patti Smith, Morphine and John Cale (chosen by Frédéric Sanchez) created the perfect atmosphere for the runway show, which was held Sunday, 23 February 2014 in Milan.

Patterns, Palladiana marble intarsia and flashes of vivid colours were worn on the runway by the likes of Joan Smalls, Hanne Gabi, Sam Rollinson and Anne Ewers who had natural up-do hairstyles by Eugene Souleiman for Wella and strong, but non-ostentatious make-up created by Lucia Pieroni for M.A.C. A strategic naturalness echoed the free spirit that has always characterized the Missoni brand both on and off stage.
