An Ottavio Missoni Tapestry at MiArt

A 1981 tapestry by Ottavio Missoni interrelates with the work of young contemporary artists through the Gasconade gallery at MiArt

In occasion of MiArt, the Milanese contemporary art fair directed by Vincenzo de Bellis, the fledgling Gasconade gallery will present its stand with works by Alessandro Agudio, Riccardo Beretta (born in 1982) and Nathalie Du Pasquier along with a 1981 tapestry by Ottavio Missoni  from the archives of the Missoni foundation.

Michele D’Aurizio, Gasconade gallerist, tell us: “The motivation behind showing a tapestry by Ottavio Missoni side by side with the works of young contemporary artists and Nathalie Du Pasquier (who was a founding member of Memphis in the 1980s, when she mostly designed rugs and fabrics) is to outline a ‘Milanese tradition’ to which we believe Alessandro Agudio and Riccardo Beretta belong. It’s a strategic choice, dictated by the desire to link the customs of artists our age to more globally recognized artists.”
