Feline, athletic and lithe, the Missoni woman favours clingy models that flaunt her body for Autumn 2013. Like tight skirts with deep slits, knee-length dresses buttoned along one side and maxi-dresses with slightly flared hems, for the look of a seductive mermaid.
Ultra-feminine but also bold, dynamic and self-confident, she doesn’t shun trousers with a masculine cut or athletic shorts, wearing them with tightfitting turtlenecks, slim cardigans and stay-up stockings, under the more powerful lines – tapered or squared – of coats and jackets.
There are short and long jackets as well as coats in woollen fabrics and double knits that combine allusions to tiger and lynx fur with solids, geometric motifs and classic houndstooth designs. The look is transformed into a sharp, sophisticated intarsia of cuts, forms and textures, with the clear-cut contraposition between black and bright, luminous rust, burgundy, turquoise and pearl grey.
The block workmanship unites transparent and opaque, silk and cashmere yarn, prints on fabrics and Missoni knits. And the collection has plenty of sophisticated accessories, like the booties and tapered shoes, with a contrasting toe and mini-platform in laminated leather. Then there are the new bags produced by Missoni: soft satchels, accordion handbags and clutches with a sophisticated inlay of different colours, refined leather and exclusive details.
