Shapes and silhouettes are structured, yet relaxed and unrestrictive; suggestive of urban utility-wear that allows our nature-loving city dweller to move freely and stylishly throughout his daily ventures. Influenced by the indestructible quality of parachute and military fabrics, over-dyed ripstop-woven cotton topstitched with Missoni space-dye yarns has been used for jackets, parkas, cargo pants with large, billowing pockets and shorts with a detachable multi-pocket utility apron. Cold-washed nylon twills have been garment-dyed for a mottled effect then used to create a bomber lined in space-dyed knit and a tunic and pullover with space-dyed knit facings.
Blousons and cargo shorts have been constructed in a garden check from Missoni’s exclusive loom-knit fabrics and a custom woven-drill indigo denim flecked with space-dye yarns is found in a five-pocket trouser, jean jacket, cargo pants and shorts, as well as a hooded pullover. The crewnecks, tunics, polos and cardigans that tie the collection together have been created in cotton crêpe reversible rugby stripes, linen and cotton blended dégradé cable stitches and intarsia-knitting in fine-gauge pima cotton with Breton-stripe inserts. Functional and smart footwear round off this prismatic collection with a contemporary take on the classic garden boot, crafted in washed suede or a waxed cotton-drill fabric.
