Missoni Moments The Place To Be

Zigzag Towel

If we were to use a hashtag for the Missoni style, one of the first would be #humour.

This sense of humour is more subtle than any millimetric pattern that, like a fragrance, starts with the smile of Tai Missoni and moves on to envelop the entire production of the fashion house.

It is self-effacing humour that draws on the imagination and can reinvent the whole universe.

This is the case with an iconic accessory like the Zigzag Towel by Missoni Home, used as a cape by Super Bouledogue français and a scarf around the neck of the “bulldog”John Goodman in The Hangover Part III (speaking of bulldogs, there is also the canine version, which happens to be called Johnny and is a fixture backstage).

It becomes a stole, an ethnic accessory, and ends up draped on the models’shoulders for the Men’s Summer 2014 fashion show (along with the play cards hair clip). And even around their heads to keep their ideas hot and to remember that, as Katharine Hepburn said, “you have got not to forget to laugh”.
