Missoni at Met Gala

See the looks worn by Margherita Maccapani Missoni and Eugénie Niarchos at NYC's most anticipated fashion soirée

As it happens every year, the Met Gala had come and gone, leaving behind a trail of luxury and elegance. On the morning before the party, host Anna Wintour attended the opening of the Metropolitan Museum's Anna Wintour Costume Center, where she was honoured by none other than the First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama.

The theme of this year's ball was an homage to Charles James, the British-born designer who is known as “America's First Couturier”. James, who was born in 1906, is widely regarded as a master of cutting and known for his tailoring.

Margherita Maccapani Missoni was stunning as usual in a Missoni ton-sur-ton violet lamé dress with see-through lamé details inserted in the back, see-through sleeves and detailing in the front of the bodice, and a pleated skirt with see-through details.

Eugénie Niarchos chose a Missoni silver lamé dress with pink rayon lining and a pleated silver lamé skirt with see-through details.
