“The video dedicated to Missoni and made for Italian Style: 8 short videos x 8 long stories, produced by Asmara Films for Vogue Italia and ICE, originates in a garden taken from the world of the imagination, the world of fantastical stories and of details that transform a home into something far more than a physical place.
While nature moves lightly, it is with children’s games that a familiar language is staged, supported by those gestures, places and movements that convey a sense of timeless intimacy, that convey a detail to recount a universal story. Outfits that seem to come from different generations (all from Missoni Spring 2014) are mixed, decontextualized and transformed to emerge from the furniture containing them, and they come to life in a series of images inspired by 8mm movies in which the green of the garden is animated by the prints from the collections.
The garden statues become elves that sing an African-inspired electronic lullaby, transforming a common element into the beginning of a sweet magical story. Amber, Poppy, Tuesday, Nicolas, Ava Rose and Giacomo wear grownup clothes to create a little show of games, dances and impromptu instruments that ultimately talk about the lives we have all lived.
An intimate glance – so light and naif – thanks to the contribution of David Formentin and Leonora Hamill. “
